Well whilst you can buy all these wonderful cooking books, such a shame that all the receipes are based on two or four people!! However, you learned to adapt and end making your own receipes and hence why I just thought I may put some of my cooking here....so here is tonight's meal.....
1 medium sized (or the size you want to eat) piece of steak
1 piece of ginger
2 green chilli's
4 tablespoons of Garlic infused olive oil
2 table spoons of olive oil
2 medium sized new or Charlotte potatoes
1 small/medium leek
2/3 runner beans depending on the size
Several sprigs of Thyme
Several sprigs of Sage
1 glass of very good red wine
Seasoning the steak:-
Firstly de-seed the chilli's and finely chop and then de-skin and finely chop the ginger as well. Once both the chilli and ginger have been finely chopped and diced had to a small box container and add the garlic infused olive oil. Place your piece of steak on the chopping board and finely cross score both sides of the steak. Mix all ingredients together and then place your piece of steak on top and firmly press down into the mixture. Lift the steak and turn over and firmly press the steak down. Then place the lid on the container and leave to marinade.
Cooking:-
Add the olive oil to warm frying pan. Chop and cube the potatoes into small pieces around 5 to 10 mm square and add to the frying pan to make statue potatoes. Finely chop the thyme and sage together together and add to the frying pan. Chop the leek and split some of the slices into rings and then chop the beans up as well. When the the cuded potatoes have started to seal and obtain fried sides add the beans and leeks. Once the potatoes are cooked and the beans still have a crunchy bite to them, remove and place in a bowl.
Then place the steak and the marinade into the frying pan and seal on both sides and then cook on each side for two minutes each side. Once cooked remove frying pan slice the steak in small bite size pieces.
Return the steak to the frying pan and add the potatoes, beans and leeks to the frying pan and frying for a couple of minutes constantly stirring.
Serving:-
Remove all the food and place into the bowl and enjoy with glass of red wine.
Hope you enjoy this as much I just have.
